13 July: Guided tours, film and lectures

On Friday 13 July there are a lot of activities at the Marathon Expo. You can go a guided tour of the hundred years old Olympic Stadium, watch a film from the 1912 Olympic Games and listen to an interesting lecture about the Olympic marathon race in Stockholm.
You can of course also pick up your number bib at the Expo.

The Marathon Expo is open from 09:00 to 20:00 Friday 13 July. The Expo is also open 09:00-12:30 Saturday 14 July, but all activities are only carried out on Friday.
Here is the schedule:

10:45: Guided tour of the Olympic Stadium. The tour starts at the Clock tower.
11:30: A film from the 1912 Olympic Games is shown at the School of Sport. The film is 20 minutes long.
12:00 Thomas Enström, employed at the Jubilee Marathon’s office, is giving a lecture in English about the 1912 Olympic Games in the School of Sport.
12:45: Guided tour of the Olympic Stadium. The tour starts at the Clock tower.
13:30: A film from the 1912 Olympic Games is shown at the School of Sport. The film is 20 minutes long.
14:45 Guided tour of the Olympic Stadium. The tour starts at the clock tower.
15:30: A film from the 1912 Olympic Games is shown at the School of Sport. The film is 20 minutes long.
16:45: Guided tour of the Olympic Stadium. The tour starts at the Clock tower.
17:30: A film from the 1912 Olympic Games is shown at the School of Sport. The film is 20 minutes long.

For almost one hundred years, track and field athletics has been one of the dominant sports in the Stockholm Olympic Stadium. Today the finish of the ASICS Stockholm Marathon is in this historic arena.

Great races in Sweden 2012

1 June: ASICS Stockholm Marathon
The 35th ASICS Stockholm Marathon will be an exiting race in a beautiful city with 21,500 runners from all over the world. Enthusiastic spectators line the route in the Swedish capital. At the finish in the classical 1912 Olympic Stadium thousands of fans greet the runners.

4 August: Stockholm Ultra Marathon
The first ever Stockholm Ultra Marathon will be on Sunday 4 August 2013. The race will have two distances; 50 km and 100 km. The course will run in the central parts of Stockholm.

7 September: Tjejmilen
This is the biggest sporting event in Sweden for women with 33,000 female runners and joggers of all ages. The 30th Tjejmilen will be staged on Saturday 7 September 2013.
Everyone loves the scenic course through the royal park ”Djurgården” in central Stockholm. The distance is 10,000 metres.

14 September DN Stockholm Half Marathon
Welcome to the DN Stockholm Half Marathon. Start and finish at the Royal Palace. 17,000 runners from all over the world. Inspiring course through the central districts of the Swedish capital.
